In late 2013, I fully integrated music into my paintings. These painting were created as actual musical scores. I created recordings for I Found That Essence Rare and Play for my show at Montpelier Arts Center in the fall of 2014. Small speaker drivers were attached to the back of the canvases, allowing the music to play continuously during the show's run. Audio can be hear on Soundcloud

Play (Tally All the Things That You Broke) 2014 Acrylic on Canvas 42" x 42"
These pieces were made by placing overlapping lines (with extra squares jutting out) on top of each other. A curator noted that it reminder her of the game Tetris. I've never actually played Tetris but I got the reference and somehow it stuck for these pieces. The current work arrives at the grid based patterns in a completely different way.
